The Brasilia Athena is a traditional lateral arms awning. At its core, it is a square bar structure, with supports that hold a fabric roller and folding, spring-loaded arms. Simple and straightforward, it is the most common retractable type of awning in North America. Perfect to install under eaves where it will be protected, soft covers or aluminum hoods are also available separately and can be installed to protect a wall installed unit. While the soft cover can be used on wall installations or under soffits, the hood cover is only compatible with wall installations.
The Brasilia Europa is a semi-cassette awning. Semi-cassette designs have existed for many years in Europe and they new to the North American market. They are based on a square bar structure like the traditional awnings but the hood cover is integrated to the design and protects the top and back of the fabric when the awning is closed.
Semi-cassettes are a great product if your awning is not protected by eaves or overhangs. The housing keeps rain, snow, ice, dead leaves and debris away from the roller and structure of the awning without the need for additional protection.
The Brasilia Slim full cassette awning is a completely enclosed system. Once closed, the housing protects the fabric, mechanism and arms. Unlike other models, it is not built on a square bar structure, the casing acts as the structure.
The Brasilia Slim is slick looking and perfect for modern architecture and for locations where your awning risks being damaged by sand, snow, ice, salt water, or very dusty environments.
